This workshop introduces people to creating a basic OpenAI-based chatbot through understanding prompt engineering.

Selected topics include:

  • Basic introduction to chatbots, LLMs, and the general technica space
  • Feeding in reference materials (for instance, Google open source style guide)
  • Refining the default chatbot
  • Examining prompt engineering details to be able to configure your chatbot to achieve your goals

Note: This workshop requires attendees to have a ChatGPT Plus account. This account costs approximately 25 USD. You will need an account of this kind to get the most out of the workshop, but you are free to cancel your account afterwards should you desire to do so. If you do not have a ChatGPT Plus account, you are welcome to watch the workshop, but you will not be able to do hands-on work.

Depending on the access participants have, we will potentially create at least one group for those without an appropriate account to demo the functionalitzy.

The general principles are applicable for other technologies, but we need to select one for training purposes.

We will use the UI version of the tool for the workshop, not the API version.

Takeaways

Participants in this workshop will gain practical, guided experience in the possibilites available with chatbots.
