Software has reached a tremendous functional coverage in products. Nowadays, more and more, even safety relevant functions are realized in software. Still often the machinery documentation is done in DITA in a CCMS, whereas software is documented by the software department itself using markdown. In addtion most often also supplier documentation is in place and providing relevant additional information, which is typically not structured at all and provided as pdf. So the reality is we do not only have multiple data silos but also multi-modal data.

In our talk we will show how we integrate these different formats via iiRDS (Intelligent Information Request and Delivery Standard) making them easily and jointly retrievable for contextual information provisioning.

Why is that relevant when we have ChatGPT and Copilot? We will show how we make the results far more accurate for troubleshooting in safety critical situation in combining the iiRDS based knowledge graph with LLMs into a GraphRAG solution.
