Generative AI is at the forefront of technological innovation, reshaping industries and problem-solving approaches. This session introduces promptathons, interactive workshops designed to enhance prompting skills,which SAP holds to bring prompting to employees. In these events, participants collaborate in groups to tackle challenges, refine prompts, and apply AI in daily work.

We will outline the structure of a promptathon, detailing its objectives and outcomes. Attendees will learn promptathons foster a deeper understanding of generative AI, encourage peer support, and promote innovative problem-solving. We will include information from previous promptathons, illustrating real-world benefits and improvements.

Attendees will gain insights for organizing their own promptathons, including selecting challenges, managing group dynamics, and measuring outcomes. This presentation offers an opportunity to discover an engaging method for advancing AI skills, equipping attendees to lead similar initiatives within their organization.

Biography

Marianne has worked for SAP SE for over 20 years, and since 2016 has mainly focused on conversation design. Currently Marianne is a project manager for an internal conversational AI project. She has also created and teaches basic and advanced training courses on conversation design.

 Gabriele Buchner

Gabriele Buchner

Biography

Gabriele Buchner graduated from Heidelberg University with a degree in translation. She works at SAP SE in Walldorf, Germany as a translator, author, terminologist, prompt engineer, and language editor. In 2019, she trained and certified as a conversation designer for chatbots and voice assistants. She is a member of the chatbot consultant services team at SAP and trainer for SAP's internal conversation design courses. Currently, Gabriele focuses on prompt engineering and large language models, as well as multi-lingual, multicultural, and ethical aspects of digital assistants and AI and has published blogs on these topics, as well as spoken at global conferences.
